Not a recipe per se, but I got a bag of wood awhile back with a baggie of basil, rosemary, and tarragon you're supposed to add to the woodchip soak water or sprinkle over the wood.

It really is quite excellent. The SMOKE alone smells delicious, and it infuses into the meat nicely.

I have a recipe for smoked ribs using Apple chips soaked in Apple Cider. Did you use soaked chips in your SmokinTex? I thought the wood needed to be dry?

555Dave-The Smokin Tex is designed to work with dry woods. The way the cabinet is designed it will provide enought moisture to keep the meats tender. Good Luck ....Steve

Dry is the way to go, you don't want any solution dripping down on the electric elements. If you want to try the cider, then soak your wood and let it dry for use later. You can also add seasonings to the wood box. I like small branches of rosemary. Tasty with both chicken and venison. YUMMMM
