When preparing a pork butt or pork shoulder for smoking in your SmokinTex smoker, butterfly and lay it out flat.

Use your favorite rub and deeply rub on both sides.

This rub method intensifies the flavor even more.

Then refold and loosly tie the meat (if desired) and place in your smoker.

I have been using Chris Lilly's injection for my pork butts with awesome results.
Here it is:
3/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar 1/4 cup table salt
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce

It's enough to do two butts. Before they go into the smoker I rub them down with my favorite rub! YUMMMMY

kerrys...I agree....I like Cris Lilly's injection about the best of all the ones I use!!!
