After about 2 years and maybe 100 smoking sessions my heart sank when I looked out and saw the power light out on my Smokin Tex CXLD. I had almost 100 lbs. of brisket and butts in there. Luckily, I caught it before the cabinet temp dropped below 200 degrees and swapped all the meat over to my stick burner.

Removing the back cover, I quickly found the problem. Behind the insulation where the main power enters, a clip had corroded on the power side and the connection was burnt apart. There was some burnt insulation around that area.

I cleaned the wires and twisted them back together and taped them up. Flipping the switch she was right back to 220 within a few minutes. There wasn't enough slack in the wire to add a wire nut but I think it will be fine.

Anybody else have this problem?
