View Full Version : Replacing the burner

I have an ST 1400 and I'm thinking about the day when my heating element blows out and puts an abrupt stop to my cooking. Can anyone tell me how ugly of a job this is going to be? I haven't seen anything on the Smokin' Tex website that addresses burner replacement.

I spent several hours searching burners on the Interenet and I found hundreds of different oven heating elements but none that look like the one on my 1400. Any information will be appreciated. I'm assuming that ST can provide a replacement burner but I'd like to hear some comments about the actual job of swapping out the burner. Is it a nightmare?

My heating element went out and I called the company. Got expert advice, they sent the new element and it was very easy to replace. Been wondering when this one might go, it has been a few years. Might just have to get a spare myself. Go gentle on the wires under the insulation blanket. Happy smokin'
