Still checking out the 1400, and my question is: aside from the drain hole in the bottom and the smoke hole on top, is there any other air inlet? Should there be?

Welcome to ST's forum. And the answer is no. Only 2 holes. This allows proper ventalation, and allows the meat to provide enough moisture for proper cooking. One big secret is too keep the door closed during cooking....No peeking allowed. But I must admit I've done it and have learned about the delay caused by opening that door. But your smoker when cured will cook perfectly everytime...Good Luck.....Steve

Thanks. I was just wondering about the wood getting enough oxygen to keep smoking. I guess it must, as all of you are smoking up a storm.
