View Full Version : Cherry coke and pork butt

I've heard about putting a pork butt in a foil pan and pouring a can of cherry coke over it and putting it on a grill. Any thoughts of doing it in a smoker?
I'd think that would be a lot of liquid, esp in an ST, and I'm not a "sweet" pork butt rub guy, but wondered if anybody had tried it in an ST?

I'm not sure that a braising method would work out so well in a smoker. You could try brining a butt with Cherry Coke, or perhaps injecting it beforehand.
I have brined and spritzed pork ribs with CC, to good effect.
