View Full Version : Time for cooking beef filet

I have a beef filet I would like to cook in the smoker and have no idea how much time to allow. I have a thermometer that I can watch, but have no idea about how long it will take. I assume I would use 225*. Can anyone help?

You don't give a weight, so it's a little tougher. I'd start at 225*, and I think I'd start it early, with the initial plan at 1 hr per pound, monitoring the internal temp as you go, depending on degree of doneness you're after.If it's done early, wrap it tight in 2 or 3 layers of foil, wrap it in a towel, and put it in a cooler to hold it until dinner time.
