    Default Whole ribeyes???

    I cook whole tenderloins often---season and sear--smoke for and 1 1/2 hour for medium rare at 250--has anyone tried a whole ribeye?? saw some at Sam's and got me thinking--did not want to spend $150 without some guidiance-thanks

    Oh wow.... I have not attempted a whole ribeye.

    I would be tempted to slice it into steaks, smoke it then grill them

    All a whole ribeye is, is a boneless prime rib. You are better off buying a prime rib with the bone in. it costs less and the bone will give it more flavor and will help keep moisture in. I have done both and that was the results I found.

    As a whole boneless rib eye is fairly large I'd cut it in half. Unless you're feeding an army.
    Many times I cut enough steaks off to get the roast down to the size i need.
