Hi Guys,

First time to post to a forum so hope I'm doing this correctly. I recently purchased a Model 1500 smoker primarily to use to smoke beef jerky.......after a few months and lots of top round I'm real pleased with the results and love the smoker.....in the short time I've had it, a lot of jerky has been smoked.......as a result the dryer is really gnarly looking with a lot of resin and tar from the hickory chips.....after speaking to Scott he suggested running the smoker for a couple hours without the dryer so I'm trying that and it is definitely reducing the problem with gumming up the dryer.......any suggestions on how I should go about cleaning the dryer now that it's gummed up? Appreciate any suggestions out there...........thanks
