Default Question on auberins probe mounting

    Concerning the Dual probe...
Curious if anyone has wall mounted the probe permanently and if so did you mount it horizontally on the back wall as the stock probe is or did you just have it stick straight in.
    Thanks

I don't have the dual probe per-day, but I did the entire PID modification. I installed the oven temp probe permanently, sticking straight out from the back wall to the left side near the side wall at about the level I usually smoke meat, maybe 3/4 of the way up the back wall. I believe that the problem with the original placement from ST is that probe is too close to the burner, and because of that the oven cavity has a hard time getting up to the temp specified on the knob.

I remounted my probe about 1 1/2 inches below top right in center. It was right about where the original probe is. in your opinion, should i do another autotune with the change?

    Thanks
