ID:	84My Smokintex 1400 just survived Hurricane Irene. Okay it was only a catagory 1 and we didn't lose power. We live just outside
    the Washington DC area and I smoked a brisket for our Hurricane party. I figured if we lost power before it was over I could finish it off in the gas oven. Good
    thing ]that didn't happen because the range is gas but the oven is electric.

    I had to cover the exhaust hole with a foil hood to keep the heavy rain out, but all worked just fine. The brisket was awesome!

    So glad to hear you and your SmokinTex smoker are safe!

    Yah. But you guys had like 10" of rain. We're still going through a record drought here. Glad to here everything is ok though. I lived in Houston through one hurricane. Don't want to do it again.
