    Default Pecan wood

I have seen several posts re: smoking with pecan wood or pecan shells. I just returned from Tennessee and brought some pecan wood with me, but this is deadfall from a friend's trees. He says he uses the deadfall with the bark on it. My various bags and boxes of woods seem to have some bark in them, but they're mainly chips, so it's hard to tell. Am I making too much of this? Any thoughts or experience out there?

Normally I chainsaw the wood about 2-3 inches long, then split it into chunks. The bark falls off and I toss it. Honestly I never thought about smoking with the bark.

I've been told that the bark contains most of the creosote, so I don't use it. I also strip the bark from my wood stove wood.
