    Default Pork Steaks

    Rubbed down some pork steaks with Witts BBQ Rub last night and let em get happy overnight.
    In the Tex 1460 set at 225 with a hunk of hickory-Black Cherry-Apple............

    Now those are some nice looking pork steaks before and after smoking! The butchers around here slice about that thick.............How long did you smoke?

    They cooked up pretty fast. They were done in just over 2 hours...about 1.5 hours before supper so I set the Tex to 150 and just let em sit in there for an hour. Then I removed em and put them in HD foil for about 30 minutes before dinner.....that is what I love about this electric smoker, if your food gets done too soon you just open the door for a spell and set your temp to around 150 and shut the door and your grub stays warm and wont cook anymore!!!

    Of course once I get my cooking times down I probably wont have to do that as much!!
